Public Policy and Advocacy
The issue of homelessness isn't a new one, and unfortunately it often falls to a lower priority within the realm of public policy. There are many reasons for this: public misperceptions, out-of-sight/out-of-mind, poorly informed policymakers, competing funding interests, etc.
The question of 'why?' is less relevant than the question 'what are we going to do about it?' It's clear that communities are engaged in the effort to address the issue of homelessness, though to differing extents with varying degrees of success.
It's only through the combination of individual and collective efforts that change can occur. With this in mind, the coalition seeks to facilitate the involvement of individuals and organizations in the process. This section of our website is devoted to providing tools that may enable your participation in the collective effort.
