Local Advocacy

Advocacy on behalf of the homeless can take place on the local level through Continuums of Care (CoCs). These are regional planning bodies made up of service providers, housing commissions, concerned citizens and other stakeholders who are interested in homelessness and related issues. CoCs record data, identify needs, form 10-year action plans, apply for grants, allocate funds among local organizations and coordinate efforts to address homelessness. You can find the contact information for a CoC in your area by clicking here.
