Homeless Awareness Week (HAW)

hawLogoTaking place every November, Homeless Awareness Week (HAW) is an annual national effort to raise public awareness about issues relating to homelessness. MCAH promotes HAW throughout Michigan, providing technical support to assist local partners in developing events and generating local media coverage while also taking the lead in generating media coverage on a statewide basis.

This observance, which has taken place in Michigan for nearly 20 years, has received acknowledgement on an annual basis from the Michigan legislature and the presiding governors.

Any individual or organization interested in getting involved in the HAW observance can download a HAW Manual which provides ideas for various activities and tools for promoting Homeless Awareness Week in their area.
